According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Halong Bay – Cat Ba archipelago is noted for its rich diversity of islands and oceans, where a range of rare animals and plants can be found. It also boasts the nation’s largest maritime forest, covering an area of over 17,000 hectares.

The Halong Bay – Cat Ba Archipelago is a testament to Vietnam’s natural beauty. Located in Hai Phong, Cat Ba Archipelago is Vietnam’s largest limestone archipelago, comprising over 360 beautiful islands. UNESCO had previously acknowledged the archipelago as a world biosphere reserve.
